I've had this one done for 3 months but just couldn't get any good photos till today! Today was the perfect day for natural lighting. I love how the smoke looks too.
This little guy is a hatching dragon that is hallow for you to put cone incense inside. When it burns, the smoke comes through a hole I made in his throat, making him look like he breathes it.
He has a notch on the bottom of the egg that allows air to flow in so that the incense doesn't go out too soon. I am very proud with how well he came out, especially since this is (at the time) my second dragon with an open mouth. Later I did my gargoyle fountain (it's uploaded). This was kind of my practice for that.
The egg is wheel thrown and everything else is hand built. I used a special wash for the glaze of my dragon and the egg has special reflective crystals that are kind of rare to get.
Cone: 11 Fire: Reduction Clay: Porcelain
This isn't an original idea, but my dragon is SO DON'T STEAL, COPY, REPRODUCE, OR REFERENCE (without my permission). EVERYTHING I MAKE IS COPYRIGHTED AND I WILL TAKE LEGAL ACTION.
I love the way this is made, the egg looks believably real and the smoke from the incense is a nice touch. It is overall appealing to me. Wonderful job.
Aw thanks! I'm so glad you like him. ;3 And thanks for the feed back. I really appreciate it. Oh I made an Etsy, and will be having some other ones like this in it soon.
I'll make mine different.
This is awesome, by the way.
I want to see yours when you make it.
And thank you. I'm in the process of making another.
